World Health Organisation (WHO), is the UN agency responsible for coordinating the international health efforts. But since the Covid-19 pandemic, the agency has been misrepresented in the public sphere more than once.
Lighthouse Journalism found a post being circulated on social media platforms along with an article and the link to the same. The post claimed that the World Health Organization (WHO) has admitted that thousands of fully jabbed mothers are giving birth to babies with severe heart defects. However, we found in our investigation that the viral claim is misleading and even the WHO denied these reports and rubbished these claims as baseless.
Claim:
Twitter user Truth Seeker shared the viral claim on their profile.

Other users too are sharing the same claim.
Investigation:
We started our investigation by checking the article through the link mentioned in the tweet.
The link directed us to the article published on thepeoplesvoice.tv
The article was published on July 4, 2023.
However, nowhere in the article there was a mention of Covid-19 vaccination. What the article did mention was: The WHO says they are investigating an unusual rise in severe myocarditis cases among newborns and infants in the United Kingdom.
We then ran the website through the Google chrome extension of StopagandaPlus.
This extension indicates the website’s accuracy and bias.
We found out through the extension that the bias of this article was ‘Fake’ and the accuracy was ‘very low’.
The credibility rating of the website was also ‘low’. The summary during the analysis of the website said, “This website has zero credibility due to the routine publishing of fake news.”
We also searched for any credible media reports on the same, but we did not come across any.
We then connected with the media inquiries section of the World Health Organisation through email. Here is the response we got: This misinformation linked to a DON that was sent out on 17 May 2023 on Myocarditis in the UK, it has no relation and does not mention the vaccination status of mothers. WHO has not at any time, in this report or in any other report, associated the increase of myocarditis in neonates in the UK with the COVID vaccination status of the mother, or any vaccination at all. There is no basis for these claims.”
The mail referred to a disease outbreak news of Myocarditis in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The news mentioned: On 5 April 2023, the National IHR Focal Point for the United Kingdom informed WHO of an increase in severe myocarditis in neonates associated with enterovirus infection in Wales. Between June 2022 and April 2023, ten hospitalised neonates with a positive enterovirus Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test were found to have myocarditis. Seven of the ten cases had further subtyping, with either coxsackie B3 or coxsackie B4 identified. As of 5 May 2023, one patient was still hospitalised, and one had died.
Conclusion: The WHO has not admitted that fully jabbed mothers are giving birth to babies with severe heart defects, the viral post is fake.
