Lighthouse Journalism came across a video being widely shared on social media platforms. Video featured a lady in saree showcasing her sword fighting skills. It is being claimed that the lady in the video is Rajasthan’s deputy CM Diya Kumari.
Upon investigation it was found that the woman in the video is Nikitabaa Rathod.
Claim:
Twitter user Kiran Prasad shared the viral video on his profile stating that the woman in the video is Rajasthan deputy CM, Diya Kumari.

Investigation:
We started our investigation by checking the comment section of the videos shared.
We found one comment, which stated that the woman in the video was not Diya Kumari, Rajasthan deputy CM but instead, the user had mentioned another Instagram user in the video, ‘Nikitabaa Rathod’.
We checked her Instagram account, and found the video on Nikitabaa Rathod’s profile.
We found her YouTube channel too, which mentioned her to be a fencing trainer.
In the next step of investigation we reached out to Nikitabaa Rathod over a call. She informed us that the video was from a rally organised recently on account of the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Nikitabaa, a resident of Ahmedabad has been into fencing for the last five years.
Conclusion: Video of fencing trainer from Ahmedabad Nikitabaa Rathod goes viral claiming it to be of Rajasthan deputy CM, Diya Kumari. Viral claim is false.
