Lighthouse Journalism found a video being shared on social media platform X, where BJP candidate from North East Delhi, Manoj Tiwari was seen accepting his defeat. Users claimed along with the video that the BJP leader has accepted his defeat now the victory for his opponent Kanhaiya Kumar is certain. During the investigation we found the video of Manoj Tiwari to be edited.

Investigation:
We started our investigation by checking the watermark in the video. We ran a YouTube search on the word, ‘Jist’ which was mentioned on the right corner of the screen.
The video was uploaded in two parts.
The edited video is from the first part of this interview.
At around 34:08 minutes in the video the clips from the viral video can be seen.
In this part of the video he was talking about the year 2009, when SP leader Amar Singh asked him to contest elections. He was then contesting for Lok Sabha elections in Gorakhpur. He was back then contesting against the current CM of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath. He also mentions in the video that he was a member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and he was a supporter of Yogi Adityanath. He mentions ahead that amidst polls he ran away to Mumbai leaving Gorakhpur.
Further he says the lines in the viral video, “I could clearly sense my defeat, but I was sad about the fact that I lost since I was winning several times.”
He further says that he was still happy about it, since the win of Yogi Adityanath was necessary for the Hindu Sanskriti.
Conclusion: Video of Manoj Tiwari accepting his defeat is edited. He was talking about his defeat in Lok Sabha elections 2009 when he was contesting against Yogi Adityanath, a clipped video goes viral.
