Investigation:
We started the investigation by extracting keyframes from the video and running a reverse image search on the same.
We found that the video was uploaded on the Reddit platform two years ago.
Through reverse image search, we found that the keyframes were used in some news reports too.
We found a news report on the website of Mirror Now. The report was published on December 29, 2022. It was mentioned that the incident was from Pune, Maharashtra.

The report mentioned: In a shocking incident reported from the Pune district of Maharashtra, a group of goons went on a rampage and vandalised a number of shops. The goons who were armed also terrorised people in the area.
We found the screenshots from the video in an article by The Indian Express too.
The report was published on December 30, 2022.

The report mentioned: Incidents involving the so-called ‘Koyta gangs’ terrorising members of the public by brandishing machetes, especially in areas that lie on the outskirts of Pune, still continue despite the recent uproar against it in the Maharashtra Assembly. Videos of another such incident which allegedly took place on Wednesday night have gone viral, stoking public ire against the police’s failure to rein in the perpetrators. Two persons involved, including a minor, were detained soon, officers said.
Conclusion: Viral video of police arresting the miscreant vandalising shops is not recent and is not from Uttar Pradesh. The video is from Pune, 2022. The viral claim is misleading.
