Investigation:

We started the investigation by running a Google reverse image search on the keyframes obtained from the video.

Through a reverse image search on a keyframe we found the video posted on the Instagram handle of user Sanskrit Sparrow.

The content creator had clearly mentioned in the caption: The above content is a dubbed voice over. This was not announced on any flight. This does not have anything to do with Akasa Air management.

We checked the profile of the content creator and found that Samashti Gubbi creates videos in Sanskrit.

In the next step of investigation we also found a response by Akasa Air’s handle.

The X handle of Akasa Air responding to probably a user who later deleted the post had clarified that inflight announcements are delivered in Hindi and English and the viral video is a dubbed video.

Conclusion: Edited, dubbed video of an inflight announcement in Sanskrit goes viral as real. Viral claim is false.
