Lighthouse Journalism found a video widely shared on social media platforms with claims that people stuck in traffic during the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj are crying.
During the investigation we found that the viral claim is misleading, the widely shared video shows Kannada Bigg Boss fame Tukali Santhosh and his wife.
Claim:
Instagram user Ravindra Raju shared the video with a misleading claim.
Other users too are sharing the video with the same claim.
The same user shared the video again on his page.
Investigation:
We started the investigation by running a Google reverse image search on the keyframes obtained from the video. We also noticed a watermark on the video, ‘Suman TV Kannada’.
We found a video uploaded on Instagram, with the caption stating that the video was of Tukali Santhosh who hit a car in a crowd.
We also found the video on TV9 Kannada.
We found the same video on Suman TV Kannada uploaded a week ago.
The video was also being falsely linked to the Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh and Bhojpuri actor Nirbhay Pratap Singh issue.
Conclusion: The video of Kannada Bigg Boss fame Tukali Santhosh and his wife Manasa Santhosh, surrounded by a crowd, falsely linked to Mahakumbh 2025. The viral claim is misleading.
