According to several reports, people are visiting ongoing Mahakumbh in large numbers. According to a recent report, Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Prashat Kumar informed that over 46 to 47 crore people have visited the Mahakumbh till now and over 1.3 crore devotees took a dip on the Magh Purnima.
Amidst such reports, a video is being widely shared with claims that people are throwing footwear at the Indian Army officials in Mahakumbh, Prayagraj. However, during the investigation, we found that the video is not from Mahakumbh in Prayagraj.
Claim:
X user Inderjeet Barak shared the video with viral claim.
Other users too are sharing the video with same claim.
Investigation:
We uploaded the video in the InVid tool and obtained keyframes from the video. We then ran a Google reverse image search on the keyframes.
We found the visuals from the video uploaded in the form of a reel on an Instagram page.

The caption suggested that the video was from Patna for the Pushpa 2 movie promotions.
We found the same video on YouTube.
We found the exact video uploaded on the Instagram page, Beauty of Bihar.

The video was uploaded on November 17, 2024, and the caption said: Patna ke Gandhi me पुष्पा 2 ke trailer lunch hone se phle public kr diya hangama
Translation: The public created chaos during the trailer launch of Pushpa 2.
There were several news reports about the incident too.
Conclusion: Viral video of the crowd troubling the policemen in old and from Patna, Bihar during the Pushpa 2 trailer release. The video is not from the ongoing Mahakumbh. The viral claim is false.
