Lighthouse Journalism came across a post being shared on social media platforms where a boy was seen making efforts to remove a nut and bolt from huge pole standing upright. It was being claimed that the video is from India. However, during the investigation we found that the video is from Pakistan and not India.
Claim:
X user Sudhir Mishra shared the post on his handle.

Investigation:
We started the investigation by running a reverse image search on the keyframes obtained from the video.
Through this we found a video uploaded on the YouTube channel Awan Jhanzeb over a year ago.
The video was titled: ایسے چور کے بچے ہیں۔منظورکالونی عوامی چوک hill town مروت پارک
Translation: Children of such thieves. Manzoor Colony Awami Chowk hill town Marwat Park
We then ran a Google keyword search on the caption and found the video on several platforms.
We found the video on the Facebook page ‘Nation of Pakistan News’.
The video was titled: There are children of such thieves, they are cutting the street light cables during the day, no one is going to ask
Manzoor Colony Awami Chowk Hill Town Marwat Park everyone #AllPakistan #Karachi…
The video was also posted by Facebook user Farhan Ali in 2023.
Manzoor Colony is a neighborhood in Karachi. We also searched for the location on Google maps and we did find the location on Google maps.
Conclusion: Viral video of a boy trying to remove nut and bolt from a pole is from Pakistan and not India. Viral claim is misleading.
